Ok, now its Nanjing (南京). Like its name suggest, it is located in the south of china (obviously) at coordinates 32°03′N 118°46′E ( i m serious) and the capital of Jiangsu Province (江苏). Somethin u dunno, it has been the capital of China for more dynasties than in Beijing. In the Three Kingdoms period, it served as the capital of Sun Quan, but it was known as Jianye (建鄴) then. Thus, it is no suprised that it was one of the 'Four Great Ancient Capitals Of China' (中国四大古都), along with Beijing, Chang'an and Luoyang.

Ok, enough of the talk. Continue from the last time...

After waking up from the hotel at 9am in the morning, we went for breakfast. Of course, the food there was not bad, as expected from a 5-star restaurant. Den once finished, we went back and pack our thins and wait downstairs in the hotel for out bus to come.

Then, gusts of freezin winds start thrashing around.

The air was shoikkkkkkkkkkkkk man. It comes in a continuous movement, not in waves, so its really like air-con. We wore like 3 layers but can still feel the icy wind gently kissing on our skin...so poetic hor. Den the bus finally comes. Went on top and the ride took like 3 hours. As u can c, their wires are hanging on these extremly high towers. We saw alot of them as we travel along. Quite a peaceful ride, cause: 1)No little children. The youngest was P4. 2)Very comfortable to sleep. Temperature is around air-con temperatures, like 20 degress like tat. I love winter.

Finally reach. Our guide is a guy now, surname's Ma (马), and is a lecturer in Nanjing University. So we called him 马教师. As u can c, ALL of us speaks chi there. Den he told us that Nanjing is apparently well known for its handicraft in Jade and oso Medicines. Most of the Imperial Physicians come from here. Den so we go and have lunch. After tat, we proceed to the musuem.Known as the Nanjing Musuem (南京博物院), it is one of the largest musuem in China. Too bad i can tak photographs inside, but its jus lots of pieces of jade in different shapes and sizes. The one tat is the most interesting is the Silver-Treaded Jade Burial Suit (银縷玉衣). Pronunced as 'Yin *Lu Yu Yi' The 'Lu' is Lubu de 'Lu'. It is a kind of armour made of jade that is meant from the dead, or, dead nobles. This is used in the Han Dynasty as they believe tat the jade had magical properties tat could preserve the dead body and stuff like tat. The gold tread are meant for Emperors, silver for the princes, princesses, dukes etc and copper for the children of those tat are given the silver treads. Confusing huh. The one in this musuem is silver treaded while the gold one is in the National Musuem Of China in Beijing. Viewed from far. The tall buiding behind jus wrecked the ambience.

Next, we went to the Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge (南京长江大桥). It is the first bridge tat crosses the Yangtze River. It can be considered a chinese pride as it is the first double-decker and double-track highway and railway bridge built by the chinese with any foreign help. Wootss
From the top. Its kinda forggy, dun ask me y. And then beside it was a musuem oso.
Taken from different angles.
Soon it is turning evening. Guess wat, the time is jus 3pm+. Watching such a special dusk is not bad, especially wif this air-con temperature. Pardon the bad air quality la.

Soon we went form dinner and follow up went to this night market and buy the roadside food there. The ice-cream there sold 2 ren ming bi, so its like $0.40 in sing dollars !!! WOOOWW I saved 20 cents from the mac ice cream!!! (Actually no big deal la. Its almost tasteless in this weather). Then after some adventures like waitin extremly long outside a shop till a woman walk past me and my niece saying '好甜蜜阿~' and nearly get lost. (The 'tian mi' part is because she obviosly doesn't noe tat we r foreigners and are allowed to have many siblings, so she probably thought tat she is my gf or somethin...). Ok, watever. Went back to another hotel after tat and rest.

Nex day~~ Wake up at 9+ in the morning. Did the same routine again. The temperature seems cooler now. Proceed to one of the Gates in The City Wall Of Nanjing.
Yeah, Zhong Hua Men (中华门). This gate is located at the south of the city wall, and is one of the two remaining original gates among the whole 13 of them. This wall is designed by the first Emperor of the ming dynasty, Zhu Yuanzhang. This is also the most complex city gate in the world. The main entrance of the gate. It is divided into parts. This is meant to trap enemies soldiers as when they enters the gate, they will be trapped in the open ground by having the gate on boths sides comin down to trap them. Then the archers would jus rape them wif their arrows. In this state, they can jus kill anyone wif their eyes close. Pwnd. If thats not enough, soldiers are also ambushed in various spots in the gate.
Suddenly this scene looks soooooooo sadistic. Probably to give the soldiers a good view bofore they get killed. But seriously, this is quite nice. Then the worse part came. Jus when we were climbing up the staircase, my camera batt no more!! ********** Wasted. Really wasted, cause the scene on top is nice de lo. Can see the shadow of the stretch of walls. Nvm, soon we left the wall and proceed to the Van again. Den they bring us go shopping for some jades and den soon we r on our way to the nex destination!!!
The shopping mall...

Some of the highways we went past along the roads.

So, after visiting all these ancient sites, we r on our way to Wu Xi. Dunno when i m gonna feel like blogging again, but probably soon, Stay tune...
